Many of these players use a slip-clutch in the armlift mechanism consisting of two disks with silicon grease between them. After many years the silicon grease becomes too sticky en should be renewed. Small tubes of this type of grease can for instance are to be found in shops that sell plumber's equipment. It is used to smear the mechanism of water taps.
