Good Evening All (Philips 2607) (Algemeen)

Good evening all.

My name is Brian Allen and I live near Stoke on Trent in Staffordshire England.

I acquired a lovely Philips 2607 radio about a year ago and am now ready to bring it back to life again.

I have seen posts on here, regarding restoration which does look very challenging but I am hoping with a little help I will be able to have it working again.

What I would like is a step by step guide regarding the dismantling of the set as I don't want to be removing parts that don't need removing.

Thank you.

Regards,

Brian

Hello Brian,

Welcome to this forum full of good old radio stuff.
The following web page shows the original manual and has all the details you might need.
But.... it may be double dutch to you;-)

https://nvhrbiblio.nl/schema/Philips_2511.pdf

The drawings are usually very helpful and, hopefully, Google Translate is too.
Maye there once was a Mullard equivalent of this set with service docs in English but I don't really expect that considering the year of make.
Bear in mind that Philips often made changes to the sets during production without immediately releasing document updates and sometimes they never even bothered at all!

If Google and the drawings still leave you puzzled, feel free to contact me.
I have no practical experience with this particular model but might be able to do some translating for you.

Good luck with this wonderful set.

Kind regards,

Henk

Here you could find lots of schematics etc.

Basic use of the site is : type the brand in the first box, the type number in the second and...Bob is often your uncle:-) and Google X-late hopefully your friend.
