Help to identify the origin of this Philips Radio (Algemeen)

Hello Carlos,

because of the outbreak of WW2 Philips could not export radio's from Eindhoven and other factories in occupied Europe. They manufactured radio's in The U.S. and Australia for export to Portugal, Dutch Antilles, (Surinam ?) and Netherlands Indies. It is unclear where these radio's acually are manufactured / assembled, rumours says that these radio's are produced by General Electric on Long Island NY, but I did not find any evidence for that.

In Portugal you can find some Philips radios made in USA:
493AN/HN
494AN/HN
498AN/HN
592LN/LNX
595AN/HN
664VN

AN = AC mains
HN = AC/DC mains
VN = 6 volt battery
LN / LNX meaning not clear.

The difference between the 592LN and 592LNX is the waveranges:
592LN = 16.8 - 63 meter
592LNX = 13.6 - 51 meter

Can you upload a picture of the dial ?

These radio's have my special attention because of the similarity to some radio's exported to The Netherlands Indies (Indonesia).

Regards,
Pim.
