Philips 290U radio

Hi. I have a Philips 290U tube radio (made in 1950), and I wonder if it is a similar design to the model BX290U in Holland? My set has UCH42, UAF42, UBC41, UL41 & UY41 tubes in series. I am experiencing problems on my set, the s.w & l.w bands are working but the m.w is completely dead (no stations). I have replaced the black bitumen coated capacitors, and also the resistors that have gone way out of tolerance. I can not see that the red tubular r.f capacitors giving much problem, as they are usually quite reliable.
I have had to re-solder some of the original soldering connections, as there were a few "dry" joints. There is a background hum to the set (not h.t caps or heater to cathode s/c in the valves, which is a problem, as it spoils the sound. Luckily, I do have a copy of the original Philips manual, so it does make fault finding easier.
Someone has replaced the tuning cursor cord & tuning cap drive cord with a one piece cord, but they have installed it the wrong way around the tuning spindle, it should have been two seperate cords (with brass collars to mark out different lengths of the cord), and also the actual tuning gang unit is mounted loose on its rubbers, I have tried to replace the suspension rubbers with plastic grommets, but this does not work very well. Can anyone help with any spares for this set, please ?
Best wishes
